Court documents indicate 23-year-old Elisa Alana Burlingame, of Anita, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 2:00 p.m. on July 29, on the following charges:
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
She is currently free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred in late June.
Details of the case:
According to a criminal complaint, around 5:09 a.m. on June 22, Punxsutawney-based State Police were dispatched to Main Street in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County, for a report of an altercation.
According to the complaint, Elisa Alana Burlingame and a known male victim were interviewed about the incident, they both reported they were arguing about a physical altercation that had occurred between them on June 20 around 5:00 p.m. at the residence in McCalmont Township.
The known victim reportedly told police that Burlingame hit him three times on the left side of his face and then pushed him off of a bed. He reported Burlingame then sat on his chest so he could not get up and was struggling to breathe. He also told police Burlingame bit him on the right arm and on the stomach, leaving bruises and bite marks.
The complaint notes police observed the victim did have bruises and bite marks on his right arm and stomach.
Burlingame was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 8:40 a.m. on June 22.
