Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:40 a.m. on Monday, November 15, Punxsutawney Borough Police were dispatched to a residence on East Liberty Street for a report of an assault.

Police then met with a known female victim whom the complaint notes had visible injuries to her head and shoulder. Police offered to call an ambulance, but the victim reportedly indicated she planned to go to the hospital after providing police with a statement.

According to the complaint, the victim reported that she had arrived at her home on East Liberty Street after work around 11:20 a.m., went to take a shower, and then attempted to wake up her boyfriend, Thomas Craft. The victim told police she called his name a few times, but that failed to wake him, so she went downstairs to sit down and relax.

The victim reported she then heard Craft yelling at her about the way she woke him up. The victim told police Craft came downstairs, rushed over, and began pushing her down on the couch, then punched her in the back of the head three times. She reported Craft then threw her child’s table at her, hitting her in the left arm.

The complaint indicates the victim told Craft to leave her alone and tried to leave the room, but Craft blocked her path, then pushed her to the ground, kicked her in the back of the head, and punched her several more times. He also reportedly spit in her face and told her “nobody would want her.” She indicated that Craft then went to leave, and she closed and locked the door. He then reportedly turned around and kicked the door, causing the gas to shatter into the residence, before getting into her vehicle and leaving.

The complaint notes the victim was taken to Punxsutawney Hospital for treatment unknown injuries and police also contacted Crossroads to assist her with obtaining a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order.

The charges were filed against Craft through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on November 16.
