Hearing Set for Next Week for Area Man Busted Selling Meth in Pine Creek Township

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A hearing is scheduled for next week for an area man who allegedly sold meth to a confidential informant in Pine Creek Township late last year.

Court documents indicate 69-year-old Harry Eugene Dunlap, of Curwensville, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak at 11:15 a.m. on December 3, on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor

The charges stem from an undercover operation that took place in November 2020.

According to a criminal complaint, on November 25, 2020, an agent of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force was in contact with a confidential informant (CI) who indicated he/she could assist in the purchases of crystal methamphetamine from Harry Dunlap.

The complaint indicates the CI provided police with screenshots from Dunlap’s Facebook so police were able to identify him.

A controlled purchase was then planned and executed.

According to the complaint, police were able to observe as Dunlap exchanged a sandwich bag containing .965 of an ounce of methamphetamine with the CI for $700.00 in pre-recorded official funds at a location near the Hazen exit just off of Interstate 80.

The complaint also notes Dunlap arrived in a vehicle with an unknown white male in the front passenger seat and a police check of the registration of the vehicle found no record of it.

Dunlap was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak at 6:35 p.m. on November 9.

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, he remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

Court documents indicate Dunlap has a criminal history dating back to 1989 with convictions that include Corrupt Organizations, Witness Intimidation, Terroristic Threats, Escape, and various drug-related charges.
