Helen M. Fairman

Helen M. Fairman, 90, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Jefferson Manor Health Center, Brookville.

She was born April 26, 1926, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Mary (Soltis) and Michael Fairman.

Helen was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.

She was a graduate of SS.C.D. School.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her neighbors, reading, and she was an excellent cook.

She worked at A & P Store as a cashier and bookkeeper.

Surviving relatives include two brothers, Stephen Fairman and wife Anna Jane of Punxsutawney and Walter Fairman of Punxsutawney; three nephews, Robert and wife Peggy, Stephen Jr., and Tom; and two nieces, Peggy Jones and husband Chappy and Jannie McClimans and husband Rob.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Sakash.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral divine liturgy will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Reverend James A. Ragen officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Helen, to Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 714 Sutton Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
