Herbert Carl Manners

Herbert Carl Manners, 73, of Punxsutawney, passed away on December 07, 2021, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born in Punxsutawney on October 31, 1948, a son of the late Harold Eugene Manners and Lucille (Lauer) Manners.

Herb was a 1966 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

On December 13, 1975, he married Patti Jean Haag on her birthday.

He earned a degree in Drafting and Design from Penn State University and was the holder of four US Patents.

He enjoyed working in his little shop and had an amazing ability to envision, design and create a variety of functional, practical items

Herb was the owner and operator of Manners Contracting for over fifty years.

He was a hard worker and was respected by many for his knowledge, reputation and experience in the trade.

He enjoyed the outdoors and keeping busy doing something, he had many friends and was always willing to do anything to help them.

He is survived by his wife Patti, one sister, Marion Meckley and husband George of Lorton, Virginia; three brothers, John Manners of Punxsutawney, Henry Manners and wife Tina of Punxsutawney, and Steven “Gus” Manners and wife Dianna of Brookville; brother in-law, Terry Haag and wife Jeanne of Rossiter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald Manners; sister, Margaret “Peg” Brooks; a very special nephew, Cody Haag.

In accordance to his wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, inc., Punxsutawney.
