High School Baseball Roundup: Dubois Blanks Brookville

Wednesday’s high school baseball recaps.

DUBOIS 10, BROOKVILLE 0, 5 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Ethan Long and Peter Foradora combined on a three-hitter, and DuBois
scored all its runs in the first three innings in getting a 10-0 road win at Brookville.

Long went three innings and allowed two hits while striking out two and walking one. Foradora struck out three and gave up a hit in his two innings of work.

Ryan Pasternak, Drew Bankovich, Braden Paulinellie and Zach Sloan all had two hits.

Bankovich hit a two-run triple in the first inning and singled in a run in the
second inning. Pasternak singled in a run in the second inning and doubled in three
runs in the Beavers’ five-run third inning.

DuBois finished the regular season 14-6. Brookville wound up 7-12.

The Beavers await their District 8-9-10 sub-regional playoff schedule while the Raiders will enter the District 9 Class AA playoffs that start next week.

UNION 17, FOREST AREA 2, 5 INNINGS

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Lucas Bowser scored three times, as Union closed out its season with a 17-2, five-inning victory over Forest Area at East Forest.

Bowser was 1-for-5 at the plate with a triple, while Dana Logue went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored for the Golden Knights. Cole Morris chipped in with two hits, including a double, and two runs scored, and Hunter Johnston was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs.

Hank Murphy got the win going five innings and allowing two unearned runs on one hit and two walks while striking out 11.

Nic Smail had Forest Area’s hit, a single.

Smail took the loss giving up 17 runs, 14 earned. He walked 11 and struck out four.

Union finished 5-13. The Fires end 0-18.
