High School Softball Roundup: Assalone Helps DCC Stay Perfect

Thursday’s high school softball recaps.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 4, CURWENSVILLE 0

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Riley Assalone tossed a three-hit shutout to keep DuBois Central Catholic unbeaten with a 4-0 win at Curwensville.

Assalone struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter to help the Lady Cardinals improve to 18-0 on the year.

DCC had 10 hits in the game led by three from Macey Hanes, who also drove in two runs. Jordy Frank and Stephanie Rossi contributed two hits apiece.

Emily Miller had two of Curwensville’s three hits going 2-for-3.

Rylee Young took the loss allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out eight.

Curwensville falls to 9-8 with the loss.
