High School Softball Roundup: Beers, Wayne Help DuBois 10-Run Brookville

Wednesday’s high school softball recaps.

DUBOIS 13, BROOKVILLE 3, 6 innings

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Katelyn Beers and Gabi Wayne each had four hits, as DuBois notched a 13-3, six inning win at Brookville.

Beers also scored four times and drove in three runs, hitting an inside-the-park home run in the third inning and a two-run triple in the sixth.

Wayne singled four times, scoring three runs.

Rachel Ball added three hits and four RBIs for the Lady Beavers, including a two-run double, while Danessa Allison singled twice and drove in three.

DuBois pitcher Samantha Fields allowed eight hits while striking out five and walking three.

Elaina Powell had three of those hits for Brookville going 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple. She scored twice and had one RBI. Kennedy Gilbert added a pair of hits, including a triple.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 5, REDBANK VALLEY 0

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Riley Assalone tossed a no-hitter, and Macey Hanes and Jordy Frank each had three hits to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 5-0 win over Redbank Valley.

Assalone struck out seven in getting her no-no, while Frank hit another home run and added a double and three RBIs. It’s seventh straight game Frank has gone deep in and she has eight homers during that stretch.

Alyssa Burkett suffered the loss for Redbank Valley.
