High School Softball Roundup: Brockway Falls to Johnsonburg

Tuesday’s high school softball recaps.

JOHNSONBURG 9, BROCKWAY 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Hannah Park threw a no-hitter to lead Johnsonburg to a 9-0 win at Brockway.

Park walked three and struck out four.

Nicole Myers, Britnee Thorwart and Ashton Watts each drove in two runs for the Ramettes with Myers going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Thorwart going 2-for-4 and Watts going 1-for-4 with a double.

Also for Johnsonburg, Alyssa Kasmierski was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Kayla Dowdall took the loss giving up the nine runs, but only one of them was earned. She gave up 10 hits and a walk while striking out four.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 9, KEYSTONE 8, 8 INNINGS

KNOX, Pa. – Megan Schimp scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning to give Clarion-Limestone a 9-8 win at Keystone.

Schimp started the eight with a walk, stole second and moved to third on a single by Sadie Mahle.

The Lady Lions trailed 8-3 going to the seventh but scored five times in the inning on four hits and three Keystone errors to tie the game at eight and force extra innings.

Mahle had a double in the inning and Abby Carl, Paige Aaron, Alyssa Kiser all had singles.

Mahle finished with three hits, Schimp had two hits and two runs, Kiser had two hits and Carl and Aaron each scored two runs.

Rebecca Hurst had a pair of hits for Keystone, as did McKenna Stiller, who had a double.

KARNS CITY 16, FOREST AREA 4, 5 INNINGS

CHICORA, Pa. – Ashley Coon and Alyssa Stitt each had three hits to lead Karns City to a 16-4, five-inning win over visiting Forest Area.

Coon tripled, doubled and singled, while Stitt had a triple and two singles. Makala Bailey added an inside-the-park home run for the Lady Gremlins.

LeeAnn Gibson got the win striking out four.

Sarah Schettler led the Lady Fires with a pair of hits.
