High School Softball Roundup: DCC Rolls Past Brookville

Monday’s high school softball recaps.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 14, BROOKVILLE 1, 5 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Jordy Frank had four hits, including her 11th home run, and four RBIs to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 14-1, five-inning win over Brookville in a game originally scheduled for Brookville but moved to DCC because of field conditions.

Tessa Sayers added three hits, including a pair of doubles, for the Lady Cardinals. Riley Assalone got the win going five innings allowing one run on six hits and striking out eight.

DCC is still unbeaten at 19-0. Brookville is 3-14.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 3, VENANGO CATHOLIC 2

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Abby Carl drove home Sadie Mahle and Tabita Switzer, as Clarion-Limestone walked off Venango Catholic, 3-2.

Down 2-1 going to the bottom of the seventh, Mahle singled and Alyssa Kiser had back-to-back one-out singles. Switzer then grounded into a fielder’s choice with Kiser out at second. Carl then hit a double scoring both runners.

Kiser had a pair of hits, including a double, while Switzer also had two hits.

Kiser picked up the win going seven innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits. She walked two, hit one and struck out five.

C-L is now 6-10.
