High School Softball Roundup: Frank Leads DCC Past Keystone

Tuesday’s high school softball recaps.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 14,KEYSTONE 1

KNOX, Pa. – Jordy Frank continued to mash the softball coming up with four hits, including a home run and two triples, to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 14-1 win at Keystone.

Frank drove in four runs on the day as well.

Ashley Wruble added four hits and three RBIs for the Lady Cardinals, while Alyssa Bittner and Riley Assalone each added three hits.

Assalone got the win going the distance and allowing one hit and one unearned run while striking out 11.

Lexi Callander had Keystone’s hit.

VENANGO CATHOLIC 12, FOREST AREA 2, 5 INNINGS

OIL CITY, Pa. – Jennifer Rogers and Sarah McCauley each had two RBIs to help Venango Catholic to a 12-2, five-inning win over visiting Forest Area.

McCauley, who had a double, and Rogers had two of VC’s three hits.

Forest Area actually outhit the Lady Vikings 4-3 with Sarah Schettler getting a double for the Fires.

Kylee Gonzalez picked up the win. She walked two and struck out three while giving up two runs on the four hits in five innings of work.
