Horse Strikes Vehicle in Troutville Borough

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225TROUTVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 5:00 a.m. on October 12, a horse versus vehicle crash occurred on State Route 410, Troutville Borough, Clearfield County.

According to police, 65-year-old Lura Nichols, of Punxsutawney, was traveling east on SR 410 in a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Police say a horse was running down the road with the Dodge’s lane of travel, and the vehicle’s front end was struck by the horse.

Nichols was using a seat belt and was not injured, police say.

The horse will recover from its injuries, according to police.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
