Howard R. Huey, 86, Luthersburg, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home.
Born March 14, 1935, in Luthersburg, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Swope) Huey.
On April 20, 2013, he married Marlene (Hand) Huey in Luthersburg. She survives.
Howard was a graduate of the DuBois Area High School and a truck driver for Strishock Coal Company.
As a musician, he played 13 different instruments, played in a volunteer music group in Reynoldsville for many years, and enjoyed listening to music at the Hickory Grange and the Luthersburg Community Center.
Howard loved woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He attended St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by three daughters, Catherine (John) Berger, Salem, Karen Horner, Reynoldsville, and Daisy (Eric) Clark, Baden, PA; two step-daughters, Darlene (Scott) Stuart, DuBois, and Denise (Jay) Heffner, DuBois; his grandchildren, Stacey Duttry, Rylan Huey, Eric Clark Jr., Michele Horner, Krista Horner, Andrea Kunes, Sara Stuart, and Melissa Stuart; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Fred (Linda) Huey, Florence Platt, Donna Schuckers, Judy (Jim) Hollopeter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Miriam Henry, a brother, George Leroy Huey, and a grandson, Douglas Horner.
Friends and family will be received Monday, December 6th from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, December 7th from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 7th at 11:30 a.m. from the funeral chapel with Rev. Bob Newell officiating.
Interment will be in Rockton Cemetery.
