HS Softball Roundup: Lingenfelter Leads Punxsy Past Brookville

Thursday’s high school softball recaps.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 12, BROOKVILLE 0, 6 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Kyle Lingenfelter threw a gem and also helped herself at the plate, as visiting Punxsutawney rolled past Brookville, 12-0 in six innings.
Lingenfelter gave up just one hit while striking out 17 Lady Raiders and allowing just two base runners – an Elaina Powell two-out single in the fourth and Laken Hergert reaching on an error in the fifth.

At the plate, Lingenfelter was 2-for-4 with our RBIs. She had an RBI double in the second and a bases-loaded, bases-clearing triple in the fifth.

Morgan Adamson, Sam Satterlee and Beth Barnett each had three-hit games for the Lady Chucks, while Tessa Winebark and Allie Ishman joined Lingenfelter with two-hit games.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 12, JOHNSONBURG 2, 6 INNINGS

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Cait Drahushak, Jordy Frank and Macy Hanes combined for nine of DuBois Central Catholic’s 15 hits in a 12-2, 6-inning win at Johnsonburg.

All three players were 3-for-4 on the afternoon with Drahushak recording a double driving in a run and scoring three times. Hanes scored twice and drove home one, while Frank drove home two and scored once.

Winning pitcher Riley Assalone also helped herself with the bat collecting a double, an RBI and a run scored. She also gave up two runs on five hits while striking out nine and walking no one.

Lindsey Kocjancic accounted for the two Ramette runs on a two-run home run in the right-center-field gap. Jaylie Johnson also went 2-for-3 for Johnsonburg.

Hannah Park suffered the loss giving up 10 runs, only five of which were earned, on 12 hits and a walk while striking out five.
