Icy Roadway Causes One-Vehicle Crash on Route 119; Driver Injured

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a one vehicle crash occurred on March 4 around 9:41 p.m. on State Route 119 in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Shirley J. Williams, 68, of Big Run, was traveling south on Route 119 when she lost control of her 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee while negotiating a right hand curve on the ice-covered roadway, near the intersection with Brown Bridge Drive.

Williams’ vehicle spun an undetermined amount of times before striking an embankment with the front end and left rear end.

Jefferson County EMS transported Williams to Punxsutawney Hospital for minor injuries.

She was wearing a seat belt.
