Imogene Ruth (Wolfgang) VanDyke

Imogene Ruth VanDyke, 85, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016, while visiting family in Texas.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1931.

Born and raised in Punxsutawney, Imogene married James VanDyke and moved to Michigan for work and to raise their family.

Over the years, she worked as a daycare provider and also opened a small exercise facility in Clawson, Michigan.

They purchased a second home in Punxsutawney, which gave themselves and family members a place to stay and enjoy their hometown.

She enjoyed people, painting, talking about her grandchildren and helping others. Her smile was infectious.

She is survived by a daughter, Terrie (Daniel) Gregory; two grandchildren, Eric (Monica) Gregory and Erin (William) Hickey; four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Braylin, William and Emery; and three siblings, Almeda, Lois and James.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, James, who recently passed away, and a sister, Janet.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Mahoning Union Cemetery in Marchand, Pa.
