Indiana Woman Arrested for Drug Possession in Punxutawney

arrestedPUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police report a drug arrest was made on Route 36 in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County.

According to police, during a traffic stop on January 12, officers identified a female passenger in the vehicle as 44-year-old Brenda L. Romagna, of Indiana, Pa.

Romagna was found to have an active bench warrant in Clearfied County.

While taking Romogna into custody, officers discovered five stamp heroin bags as well as multiple empty bags, two syringes, a spoon, and other drug paraphernalia.

Romagna was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and a criminal complaint was filed charging her with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 19, 2016 with Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers.
