Iola Pearl Dawson

Iola Pearl Dawson, 82, of Brookville died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the Butler Community Hospital.

Born Feb. 1, 1932 in Clarion, Pa., Iola was the daughter of James Campbell and Luella Killion, who preceded her in death.

Iola worked as a cook for Howard Johnson’s and also the Captain Loomis in Clarion.

She is survived by her companion James L. Deemer, of Brookville; three sons William, Ronald, and Howard Dawson, of Brookville; one daughter Shirl Doverspike, of Brookville; and one sister Garnet Kiser, of Shippenville. Iola is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Iola was preceded in death by one son James Dawson, one great-grandson Brandon Stewart, and one brother Ronald Reed.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.

Services will be held immediately following visitation at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Henry Scoff presiding.

Memorials may be made to a cause of the donor’s choice.
