Ivan Lloyd Ritchey, Sr.

ivan-ritcheyIvan Lloyd Ritchey, Sr., age 82, of Rimersburg, passed away Tuesday evening, January 3, 2017 at Penn Highlands-Brookville Hospital, following an illness.

Born July 4, 1934 in Brady’s Bend, he was a son of the late Ernest Vain Ritchey and Nellie Marie Brocious Ritchey.

Ivan was a veteran of Korean War serving in the United States Army. His military career spanned three enlistments between October 15, 1953 and October 2, 1962 including the Korean War, Germany, and Japan.

He married the former Helen Caroline Anthony on January 14, 1961 and she preceded him in death on October 30, 1999.

Ivan was a laborer and truck driver with various coal companies.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Clarion and the American Legion Club of East Brady.

Survivors include two sons:  Ivan Lloyd Ritchey, Jr. and wife, Heather, of Rimersburg and Kevin Duane Ritchey and wife, Lori, also of Rimersburg; two daughters: Lisa Jean Maines and husband, Ronald, of Punxsutawney and Patricia Ann Simpson and husband, Ronald, of Sligo; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Ivan is also survived by a sister, Mildred M. Best of Rimersburg.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ivan was preceded in death by a grandson, Ivan Lloyd Ritchey, III and two brothers, Ernest Glenn Ritchey and William Clair Ritchey.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Larry Piper officiating over the services.

Interment will follow in the Lawsonham Cemetery, Madison Township, Clarion County.
