James E. Kaza

James KazaJames E. Kaza, 83 of Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born January 17, 1934 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late George and Ann (Sovich) Kaza.

He enjoyed camping and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Aul) Kaza of Punxsutawney, whom he was married to for 60 years, three sons; Ken Kaza, Jeffrey Kaza and wife Janice, Richard Kaza and wife Debora, all of Punxsutawney, one brother; Msgr. Charles Kaza of Brockway, three sisters; Alice Orsich of Punxsutawney, Virginia Frano of Dubois, Jane Pokrajac of Bethel Park, one brother-in-law; Richard Shaffer, seven granchildren; Kelly Jo Kaza (John), Chad Kaza (Jenny), Derk Kaza, Jeremy Kaza (Jennifer), Jason Kaza, Julena Kaza, Justine Kaza, two great-grandchildren; Brylie and Wyatt Kaza, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother; George Kaza, one sister; Anna Shaffer, two brothers-in law; Ron Frano and Frank Orsich, one sister-in-law; Peg Kaza, one nephew; John Orsich, and one niece; Susie Shaffer.

Friends will be received from 4-8 on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, February 6, 2017 at SS, Cosmas and Damien Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza as Celebrant & Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as Co-Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
