James S. Barilar, 83 of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mr. Barilar was born December 2, 1930 in Sykesville, a son of the late James and Theresa (Lupo) Barilar. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Nase) Barilar of Punxsutawney. He was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church. He worked for the B&O Railroad and later for Season-All Windows and became the supervisor for Thermal Guard. He was a long time coach of little league and loved all sports. He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles and the Elks. In addition to his wife Elizabeth, he is survived by a son, James M. Barilar and wife Anne of Mesa, AZ. and two granddaughters, Denise Barilar of Brooklyn, NY., Renae Barilar of St. Paul, MN. and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Barilar. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am Friday at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as Celebrant. Everyone is asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
