James Scott Garman

James Scott Garman, 54, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away during the night of Wednesday, January 13, 2021, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

He was born on May 16, 1966, to James Edwin and Diann Jane (Tritle) Garman in Altoona, PA; his parents survive him. He graduated from the DuBois Area High School with the class of 1984. He went on to receive certifications in both automotive and diesel mechanics at Vale Tech.

He married Jodie Harriger on October 3, 1998, in the Pocono Mountains, PA; Jodie preceded him in passing on July 23, 2016. James worked in maintenance for the Jefferson County Courthouse for many years.

He attended the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville, PA, and was also a member of the Past to Present Machinery Association in Sykesville, PA. James enjoyed racing as well as car and tractor shows. He loved to fish and use his mechanics skills in small engine repairs, especially those in lawn mowers. James was a “simple man” who enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, James is survived by one son, Zachary James Garman. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in passing by four grandparents, Chalmer and Mildred (Vandevander) Garman, Daniel and Betty Jane (Kirkpatrick) Tritle.

Services will be held privately by the family and have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA, 15851. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
