Jane L. Shaffer passed away Dec. 9, 2015 at Thunderbird Senior Living in Glendale, AZ.
She was born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to Clair (Curly) and Blanche Lukehart. She attended public schools in Punxsutawney and nursing school in Pittsburg, PA. On June 5, 1948 she married James Shaffer. Mr. Shaffer passed away in 1963. Mrs. Shaffer worked at hospitals in Pittsburg and also as an Industrial nurse for Amp Corporation in Harrisburg, PA. Following her husband’s death, she moved to Irwin, PA where she lived for over 40 years. She was a member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania. In Arizona she worshipped at Community of Grace Church in Peoria. In 2011, she moved to Glendale, AZ to live near her beloved nephew Doug Divelbiss and his wife Jane.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Dorothy Divelbiss and her nephew Doug Divelbiss. Her survivors include brother Richard Lukehart and his wife Virginia of Pittsburg, PA; brother Donald (Doomie) Lukehart of Salem, VA, 2 nieces Lynn Balego of Irwin, PA and Nancy Divelbiss of Beaver Falls, PA and several great nieces and a nephew.
She has been cremated and a memorial service will be planned in the spring in Punxsutawney, PA.
