Janet M. (Smith) Wolfe

Janet M. (Smith) Wolfe, 82, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born April 3, 1936, in DuBois, a daughter of the late Sarah Orra Etta (Simpson) and George Albert Smith.

In April 1954, Janet married Robert C. “Bob” Wolfe, who preceded her in death on October 11, 1994. Janet is survived by two sons, David (Susan) Wolfe and Daniel (Marcie) Wolfe of Punxsutawney, and one daughter, Debra (Samuel) Botelho of Poquoson, Virginia. Janet was “Nana” to Shelley (Curtis) Small, Danielle Wolfe, Amy (Darrin) Resinger, Brittany (Jason) Botelho-Baum, and Brett Botelho. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Garrett Small and Halli and Mason Resinger; daughter-in-law Judy Huey Wolfe; sister-in-law Leila Smith; and neighbor and close friend Carol Blair. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janet was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wolfe, and her siblings, George Smith, Shirley Renwick, and Carol Bouch.

Janet was a member of the Punxsutawney Area High School Class of 1954. She was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church. She was previously employed at Clinton Variety Discount Store, Punxsy Sportswear, and Nickle’s Bakery Store. Janet had been an election day and Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer.

Janet was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steeler and Pittsburgh Penguin fan. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Richard L Fait Funeral Home, 117 N. Jefferson Street, Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Clint Phillips officiating. Internment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
