Janice Arlene Reeseman

3e849d23-bbf1-4864-9955-906b87ea8af4 (1)Janice Arlene Reesman, 74, of Apollo, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, Pa.

Mrs. Reesman was born on April 4, 1941, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Leonard and Gladys Elizabeth (Campbell) Mangioni.

Janice was first married to the late Paul Calvin Troutman, who preceded her in death. She later married William Laverne “Vern” Reesman on Aug. 27, 1966. William survives and is a U.S. Army Air Force veteran.

Janice was a wonderful homemaker who lived a very active life enjoying her very large family and family “get-togethers”. She especially cherished spending quality time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janice took great pleasure in collecting bells, cooking, taking care of her family, playing Bingo and cards. She particularly liked playing the Phase 10 card game. Janice also liked cardinals. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles.

Mrs. Reesman is survived by her husband, William “Vern” Reesman; nine children, Dennis Mangioni and wife Danette of Texas, Linda and Paul Myers Sr. of Apollo, Kenneth Mangioni and Snow Shearer of Ford City, Pa., David Mangioni and Jane Beer of Big Run, Jean Kammerdiener and husband Richard of New Bethlehem, Pa., Terry Reesman and wife MaryAnn of Big Run, Timothy Reesman and Carrie Welsh of DuBois and Joseph Reesman and wife Julie of Big Run; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Mangioni of Big Run; and three step-children, Eugene Reesman of Maryland, Lou Ann Reesman and Ron Boston of Punxsutawney and Kenneth Reesman and Dawn Glover of Punxsutawney.

Janice is also survived by numerous grandchildren, Andrew, Carrie and Averie Mangioni, Melissa and husband Mike Nunnamaker, Paul Myers Jr., Heather Beer and Jason Corle, Marissa Brown and husband Everett, Travis, Trisha, Danielle, Desiree and Justin Reesman, Brittnee Beer, Brooke, Sid and Austin Kammerdiener, Christopher Barnett and Heather and Sage, Nathan Barnett and Carley, Tommy Gibson, Amanda, Paul A., Steven and Shad Myers; four great-grandchildren, Layla Brown, Cloee and John Shannon IV and Brenton Lee Corle; a sister, Viola Huey and husband Elmer of Home, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, LeVinia Mangioni of Smicksburg.

Mrs. Reesman was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Gladys Mangioni; three baby triplets, Marion, James and John Reesman; baby Thomas Reesman; a stepson, Larry Reesman; and four siblings, Betty Lou Kerr, Richard Mangioni, Robert Mangioni and baby Lettie Campbell.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 30. 2015, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reesman will be interred at the “Old Presbyterian Cemetery” in Dayton, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Reesman’s memory to the Glade Run Presbyterian Church.
