Jefferson County History Center to Sponsor Trip to Pennsylvania State Museum and Capitol

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Jefferson County History Center is sponsoring a one-day bus trip to the Pennsylvania State Museum and Capitol on Saturday, February 22.

Departing at 7:00 a.m. and arriving in Harrisburg at 10:00 a.m., the trip will feature a behind the scenes small group tour of the State Archaeology Labs and Archives with State Archaeologist Dr. Kurt Carr and plenty of free time to explore the state museum on your own. Lunch is included at the museum.

In the late afternoon, the group will proceed to the state capital for a specially scheduled 1 hour tour called the Penn’s Sacred Challenge which includes an inside tour of the Pennsylvania State Capital building. The tour highlights famous artwork of Violet Oakley throughout the building, which relates the message and story of William Penn.

Local State Representative Cris Dush will be accompanying the group on the trip and tour.

The cost of the trip is $55.00 and includes bus transportation, admission, and lunch.
