Jefferson County Business Park Plans Advance

business-parkBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The development of the Jefferson County Business Park near Exit 81 along Interstate 80 is advancing.

Jefferson County Director of Economic Development Bradley Lashinsky reported on July 28 the site has been fully mobilized.

“It is 10 to 15 percent complete,” Lashinsky said.

Phase One of the project brings needed utilities to the park, and Lashinsky reported water and sewage lines have now been constructed underneath of Interstate 80.

“We are underneath of 80 and are on track with our schedule,” Lashinsky said.

Private developer Nine Star Capital owns the park.

The project was bid in January, and at that time Lashinsky said he would begin contacting potential retailers once utilities had been brought to the park.

Economic developers are hoping to land large outdoor retailers or other large stores for location in the park.
