Jefferson County Children Invited to Sign Up for State Police Camp Cadet

CLARION, Pa. – Boys and girls are invited to learn what life is like for people in law enforcement.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop C, Camp Cadet Program will be held at Clarion University from Sunday, July 28, thru Saturday, August 2.

The camp is for boys and girls, 12 to 14 years of age, from Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, and Northern Indiana Counties.

Campers will stay at the University for the entire week where kids will build their self-esteem and confidence through team exercises. With an atmosphere similar to that of a police training academy, they will learn a lot about police officers, the U.S. Coast Guard, the State Gaming Commission, and more.

The non-refundable fee to attend is only $20.00 per person, as the camp is completely funded through private donations.

If you know of a child interested in attending the camp, please pick up a Camp Cadet application at the school they attend, at your local Troop C State Police Station, or by contacting Trooper Bruce A. Morris at the State Police in Ridgway at 814-772-2399 or emailing him at bmorris@pa.gov.

Submissions are processed as they are received to fill the camp complement, and completed applications must be received no later than June 3, 2019.
