Jefferson County Commissioners Handle Routine Business

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The agenda was a little on the light side at Wednesday’s Jefferson County Commissioners meeting, but there was still some business that had to be addressed.

The Commissioners approved an agreement for the part-time use of a forensic pathologist, Dr. Eric Lee Vey, of Erie for 2017.

The cost is $950 per autopsy or exam.

They also approved a Professional Services Agreement on behalf of Children and Youth Services with Kerith Strano Taylor, not to exceed $1,500 per month. The agreement covers fiscal year 2016-17.

They also approved providing the Area Transportation Authority of Northcentral Pennsylvania county money in the amount of $76,057 to match state funds.

They approved three requests of $2,000 each that were submitted by the county’s Hotel Tax Committee.

They include the Pinecreek Volunteer Fire Department, for advertising its Monster Truck Show, the Jefferson County Fair Authority for advertising Fair Week and for the Big Rig Pulling Series event.

The Commissioners also reminded those wishing to run for any elected office is March 7.

The next meeting is set for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 14.
