County Commissioners Approve Young Township Road Project

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The Jefferson County Commissioners meeting was brief – 10 minutes to be exact.

Nonetheless, the commissioners did vote to approve another Community Development Block Grant project.

It is for a street improvement project on Doby Road in Young Township in the village of Delancey.

Dave Roman Excavating won the bid for the project at $173,400.00.

Also, the county is seeking a new Hazmat team. It does have handshake agreements with some businesses to perform cleanup work, if necessary.

Demolition work at the old Days Inn property off Allegheny Boulevard has begun.

Legacy Trucking bought the property earlier this year and will build a truck service center there.

Finally, Jenae Dawson, of Eldred Township, won county Township Officer Association’s drawing for a $500.00 scholarship.

Dawson was one of six applicants.
