Jefferson County Commissioners Okay Contracts, Appointments


BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Jefferson County Commissioners approved a number of appointments and contract agreements on Tuesday at their regular meeting at Jefferson Place in Brookville.

The commissioners approved a Legal Services Contract with Mark Wallisch for handling the duties of the county’s Assistant Public Defender position at a yearly rate of $25,000.00.

They also gave the okay to a Legal Services Contract with Scott Allen for handling the duties of the county’s Assistant Juvenile Public Defender position at a yearly rate of $24,000.00.

They also approved a resolution that the county will provide $81,904.00 to the Area Transportation Authority of Northcentral Pennsylvania to match state funds for the fiscal year 2018-19.

The commissioners approved the following re-appointments:

– Jay Chamberlin, of Reynoldsville, to the DuBois Regional Airport Authority for a five-year term, expiring December 31, 2022;

– Doug Brosius, of Big Run, and Janet Douthit, of Punxsutawney, to the County Fair Authority for five-year terms, expiring December 31, 2022; and

– Stefany Alexander, of Brookville, to the County Fair Board for a five-year term, expiring December 31, 2022.

The commissioners will host a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected officials at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, in the large courtroom at the county courthouse.

Their next regular meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, at Jefferson Place, in Brookville.
