Jefferson County Dog Licenses On Sale Thursday

dogBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Man’s best friend can get their new licenses beginning today in Jefferson County.

County Treasurer James “Moon” VanSteenberg recently made the announcement for dog owners in the county.

All dogs three months and older are required to be licensed.

“Buying a license and having a pet wear it is your pet’s best chance of being reunited with you in case it wonders off,” VanSteenberg said.

Licenses may be bought at the county Treasurer’s office in Room 212 at 155 Main Street in Brookville.

Also, licenses may be purchased online at padoglicense.com or at the following locations, including Brockway True Value Hardware, Falls Creek Borough Office/Dixon Corner Country Store, Rugh Farm Supply, Mahoning Valley Milling, Punxsy Shop and Save, Animal Health Services, Rich’s Outdoor World, Ragley’s True Value Hardware and Reynoldsville Hardware.

The regular fee for a male or female dog is $8.50 and neutered male or spayed female is $6.50.

For persons with disabilities or senior citizens, the costs for a male or female is $6.50 and $4.50 for a neutered male or spayed female.

Those applying for the senior or disabled license must show proof.
