Inaugural Veterans Emergency Fund Fundraiser Dice Run Benefit Ride to be Held Tomorrow

REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Jefferson County ABATE and the Jefferson County Veterans Affairs Department are holding their inaugural Memorial Veterans Emergency Fund Benefit Ride on Saturday, July 27.

Registration for the event will open at 10:00 a.m. at the Reynoldsville Eagles Club on Main Street in Reynoldsville. Bikes and passenger vehicles are welcome, and there will also be high and low roll prizes.

Kickstands go up at 11:00 a.m.

The cost is $10.00 per person, and 100% of the funds raised will go towards the Jefferson County Veterans Emergency Fund, which will offer financial assistance for Veterans and their families.

Sgt. Jesse Appleton

This year’s run is dedicated to Sergeant Jesse R. Appleton, of Reynoldsville, a 101st Airborne combat veteran who passed away on May 12, 2019.

The final stop will be at Jefferson County ABATE’s Annual Pig Roast, at 468 Sandy Valley Road, Reynoldsville. The cost is $5.00 per person. Camping will be available, and a covered dish is appreciated.

The Jefferson County Veterans Emergency Fund will be available to assist in covering immediate necessities of life, such as the costs of maintaining basic family needs of shelter, food, and utilities, in order to keep a stable home environment for local veterans.

Participation in this event helps to ensure that none of our local veterans go hungry or homeless.

Donations to the fund are also appreciated. Checks may be made payable to Jefferson Co. ABATE, memo: Jefferson Co. Veterans Affairs, and can be mailed to Jefferson Co. Dept. Veterans Affairs, 155 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
