Jefferson County Man Charged in Three Arson Cases, Investigation Continues

ARSON-imageNORTH MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man is behind bars on charges related to three arson incidents dating back to 2018.

Punxsutawney-based State Police have filed arson and related charges against 52-year-old Troy James Kromer, of Punxsutawney.

State Police Corporal Agosti said the charges stem from three separate arson incidents that occurred between September 27, 2018, and August 30, 2019.

The charges were filed in District Court 40-3-01 in Indiana County.

The incidents involved a pickup truck fire along Smith Road on September 27, 2018; an unoccupied building fire on Coolspring Road on August 12, 2019; and another pickup truck fire in a wooded area between Smith and Coolspring Roads on August 30, 2019.

Kromer is currently lodged in the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 cash bond.

Investigations into other arson incidents within this region of Indiana and Jefferson Counties are ongoing.
