Jefferson County Man Jailed on $100k Bail for Alleged Aggravated Assault

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man has been jailed following an assault that occurred on May 9 in Punxutawney Borough, Jefferson County.

According to court documents, 59-year-old Arthur Alexander Bacchus, was arrested by Officer Miller of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department and arraigned on the following charges:

-Aggravated Assault, Felony 2
-Terroristic Threats W/ Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
-Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
-Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
-Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $100,000.00 bail, he was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on June 24 in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers.
