Jefferson County Teen Duped by International Internet Scam

Screen Shot 2015-12-24 at 12.36.51 PMWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police report a theft took place at a residnce in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, two suspects from Paris, France contacted a local 19-year-old male via Facebook and Skype on December 16, 2015.

The first suspect, listed as a female between the ages of 18 and 25, scammed the victim by requesting money from the victim in exchange for taking a sexually explicit video off the internet.

The second suspect, listed as a male between the ages of 45 and 55, attempted to obtain money for the same video.

During the course of the investigation, YouTube Quality Control took the video down due to its content.

Police are cautioning residents not to fall for this scam. The suspects live in Paris, France, and are targeting young adult males by getting them to “friend” them on Facebook and then Skyping with them.
