Jefferson County to Host Free CPR Training Courses

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Jefferson County Commissioners have declared September “National Preparedness” month.

As part of that, the county’s Department of Emergency Services announced it is hosting a series of five “Citizen CPR Training” first aid courses.

They are free and open to the public. Advance registration is not required. Each event begins at 7 p.m.

Participants will learn hands-only CPR, care for choking victims, and other 911 emergency services. They’ll also be provided with information on how to stay safe during emergencies and local information.

The first course will be held Thursday at the Warsaw Township Fire Hall in Hazen. The next will be Wednesday, September 20 at the Summerville Fire Hall and the third Thursday, September 21 at the Sykesville Fire Hall.

The fourth will be Wednesday, September 27 at the Brockway Ambulance Station and the final event will be Thursday, September 28 at Jefferson County EMS.
