Jennifer R Shean, 37, Punxsutawney, formerly of New Derry, PA, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

She was born February 9, 1978, in Latrobe, PA, a daughter of Doretha M. (Marker) Platt and the late Melvin E. Platt, Sr.

She attended the Grange Church of God.

She loved her son and family. She enjoyed being around people, working at Head Start where she was a teacher’s aide, and also being a Boy Scout Leader.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son Brian M. Shean, Jr.; her fiancé Matthew Enterline; a sister Teresa Hissem; a brother Melvin Platt, Jr. and wife Christine; three nieces Shelby and Cera Hissem, and Amber Platt; a great niece Lilly Plachta; and three nephews Derek and Jacob Platt and Jason Hissem, Jr.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother Michael Platt and her grandparents.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Deeley Funeral Home, Inc. and also from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Janis Bracken officiating.

Interment will be in St. Johns Windy Hill Cemetery, Brookville.
