Joan M. Frederick, 79 of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mrs. Frederick was born July 2, 1936 in Jersey Shore, a daughter of the late Clarence and Floy (Homler) Spong.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved playing bingo, doing crafts and visiting her friends. Joan was a very giving person and kind to all those she met.
She is survived by two sons; Glenn Mincey of Palm Beach, FL, Donnie Spong of Williamsport, two daughters; Tracey Ann Winkleman of Avis and Linda Ann Bittle and husband Thomas of Punxsutawney. Three brothers; Zane Spong and wife Hazel of Jersey Shore, Richard Spong of Bauxite, AZ., and Donald Spong of Florida. Two grandchildren; Josh Bittle, April Shuey and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her twin sister; Jean Confer.
All arrangements are private for the family and being handled by the McCabe Funeral Home of Punxsutawney.
