Joanne Rose Rofrano

Joanne Rose Rofrano, 83, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born July 9, 1933, in Glen Campbell, a daughter of the late John and Caroline (Kozimor) Gach.

She married Carlo Rofrano. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1987.

Joanne was Catholic by faith attended SS.C.D. Roman Catholic Church, where she was active in the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Rosary Society.

Joanne was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking and baking and loved to read.

Other social clubs she belonged to were the Eagles, the Army and Navy Club, the American Legion and the ISDA.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Marie Lofrano, and one son, Michael Lofrano, both of Punxsutawney; one sister, Madelyn Schwartz of Arlington, Va.; and one brother, Philip Gach and wife Shirley of Birmingham, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Frank Gach, Walter Gach and Bill Gach; and three sisters, Anne Gach, Jean Siroskey and Mary Lekich.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
