Joe Crossman Enterline

Joe Crossman Enterline, 92, of White Street, Brookville, Pa., passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at home.

Born on March 14, 1921, in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of Mervyn O. Enterline and Virginia M. McGinnis Enterline.

He was married to Helen M. Finney, wife of 49 years, who preceded him in death on July 22, 2002.

He was a U.S. Veteran of WWII, US Army 5th Air Force, as a boatswain’s mate on an 85 foot crash boat in the South Pacific from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945.

After WWII, hee worked as an illustrator in an advertising agency in Pittsburgh, Pa. for several years. He lived with his wife for the next 40 years on the John P. Enterline homestead at the top of Barr Hill Rd. in Jefferson Co., Pa., and then moved to North White St. Brookville, Pa., for the remainder of their lives.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Enterline Boroi and her husband and 4 grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Brookville at a later date.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney, Pa.
