John A. Brendle

John A. Brendle, Age 92 of Penn Ave., DuBois, PA died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home.

Born on July 16, 1924 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew & Ethel (Lucas) Brendle.

On September 11, 1948, he married Elvera (Johnson) Brendle. She preceded him in death on August 3, 1995.

John was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II.

He retired as a lathe operator after 37 years of service from Rockwell International Manufacturing in DuBois.

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW, was a life member of the Sandy Hose Company # 1 Fireman’s Club, and was an honorary life member of the Independent, Political, & Social Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed bowling and golfing, but most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by 2 daughters (Joan Zukauskas, and Karen Fye and her husband Rick, both of DuBois, PA) 5 grandchildren (Michael, & Stephanie Zukauskas; Nick Murone & His wife Kristie; Erin Clouser & her husband Travis; and Casey Hedlund & her husband Mike) and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers (Edward & George Brendle) and a sister (Lorraine Zahorchak)

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Goble- Baronick Funeral Home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 116 South State St., DuBois, PA 15801, and/or the charity of the donor’s choice.
