John E. “Jack” Snyder

John E. “Jack” Snyder, 82, of Reynolds Street, Kane, died Wednesday afternoon at his residence.

Born May 18, 1932 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Edward and Katherine Sullivan Snyder.

After serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, he owned and operated Jack’s Fix-it Shop in Kane for many years. He had been a member of the First United Methodist Church where he belonged to the Methodist Men. More recently he had attended the First Church of God, Kane. He’d belonged to the VFW Post #1132 in Kane, and was a Life Member of the Handyman Association.

Surviving are three daughters, Sandy Langer of La Mirda, Calif., Pam Schrecengost of Kersey and Deb Allegretto of Kane; four sons, Tom Snyder of Reno, Nev., Bob Snyder of Redland, Calif., John Snyder of Humble, Texas and Dave Snyder in North Carolina; a nephew, Jim Snyder in Greensburg, plus many grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, November 8th at the First Church of God with the rev. Chad Troup, pastor, officiating.
