John J. “Uncle Johnny” Morelli, age 87, of Bath, NY died Monday, December 1, 2014 in Rockton, PA
He was born in Scottsville, NY June 24, 1927, the son of Pasquale and Dominica (Allegratti) Morelli.
He worked on the Muck land with his brother-in-law in his early years and then worked at Babcock Ladder Company in Bath for thirty years. His hobbies included wood working and jigsaw puzzles. Uncle Johnny’s love for people was shown by his kindness and consideration and he was known to be gentle in his words. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Bath.
He is survived by two daughters, Dominica V. Morelli of Durham, NC and Philomena M. (Thomas) Roy of Rockton, PA, 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, his brother Archie Morelli of Lake City, FL, twin sister, Jenny Parlato of Brockport, NY and sister Katherine (Donald) Wood of Bath, NY and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his son Thomas E. Morelli, grandson Jason Morelli and sister Edith Piazza.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Bath with Reverend James Jaeger celebrant assisted by Deacon Dave Lafortune. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital at www.stjude.org
