John J. O’Brien

john-obrienJohn J. O’Brien, 53, of Reynoldsville, PA died on Monday December 12, 2016 at his residence.

Born on August 6, 1963 in Spangler, PA, he was the son of William E. and Mary A. (Douds) O’Brien.

John was a graduate of DuBois Area Senior High School. He was employed as a cook and administrator of Highway Boarding Home in Reynoldsville.

He liked to volunteer at Reynoldsville Eagle’s functions and benefits. He loved to shoot pool and was on a pool team at the Reynoldsville Eagles.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to take resident’s from the Highway Boarding Home to fish too. He loved canoeing and rafting as well as tinkering with all kinds of things that needed fixing or repair. He would always lend a helping hand to those in need.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, William E. O’Brien and Mary A. (Douds) O’Brien and two brothers William E. O’Brien, Jr. and Daniel R. O’Brien. He is survived by his siblings Albert O’Brien of Elmora, PA, Dennis O’Brien of Reynoldsville, PA, Connie Battaglia of Brookville, PA, and Stella Akers of Reynoldsville, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by family and Friends. Memorial Service is January 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Reynoldsville Eagles. Services will be officiated by Deacon Chris Maholic.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville, PA.
