John J. Payne, 72, North Bay Village, FL, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, in Miami.
He was born April 21, 1944, in Punxsutawney, one of seven children, to the late Nellie E. (Hobba) and Earl K. Payne.
He was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School Class of 1962 and attended Indiana university of Pennsylvania.
John loved the beach and has resided there since 1967. He even worked as a bartender at a tiki bar right on the beach.
He is survived by a sister Theola (Payne) Amundson of Punxsutawney; a sister-in-law Loretta Payne of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Alva (Payne) Hunter of York, ME, Maxine (Payne) Novak of Wenonah, NJ, William H. Payne of Punxsutawney, James Payne of Punxsutawney, and Kenneth Payne of Niagara Falls, NY, who died the same day as John.
A graveside interment service will be held for family at Ridgemount Cemetery.
