Joseph E. Iorfida, 65, of 928 South Michael Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on April 22, 1950, in St. Marys, a son of the late Albert “Abie” and Kathryn Shadd Iorfida.
On September 17, 1994 in St. Marys, he married Patricia Stegman Iorfida, who survives.
Joe was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and a member of Queen of the World Church. He worked in the powdered metal industry for more than 40 years and then retired from Morgan AM&T. He was a longtime member of the Sons of Italy in Ridgway. He greatly enjoyed his dogs and was an avid supporter of the local humane societies. He also enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of more than 21 years, Patricia Stegman Iorfida, he is survived by a son, Joseph Cobb of MA, three step-children, Pam (Manuel) Gerarge of St. Marys, Michelle (David) Hetrick of Kersey and Jonathan Fleming of San Jose, CA and by 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Jeffrey (Lori) Iorfida of St. Marys and by two sisters, Linda (Gary) Eastburn of St. Marys and Deborah Ceriani of Brockport as well as by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in 1975, June Lynn Iorfida.
Funeral Services for Joseph E. Iorfida will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
