Joseph J. Guzzo

Joseph J. Guzzo, 77 of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Guzzo was born May 5, 1938 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Angelo and Irene (Sandy) Guzzo.

He was an Army Reserve Veteran from 1956 ­to 1957.

He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey (Thompson) Guzzo.

Mr. Guzzo did excavating work for 55 years, sold lawn tractors for ten years, stripped coal for 5 years and farmed on the side.

He was Young Twp. Superviser for six years, plowed snow at County Market and First Church of God for 35 years.

His greatest passion was running his bulldozer and backhoe.

Mr. Guzzo is survived by his son; Pete Guzzo of Punxsutawney and his daughter; Tammy Martz and husband, Robert of Ringgold, brother; Angelo Guzzo, grandchildren; Joseph Guzzo and wife Ashley, Holly Malone, Ashley Test and great­grandchildren; Kenley Ruth Malone, Joseph Fredrick Guzzo and his best friend, his dog Muffin. In addition to his wife Audrey, he was preceded in death by a son; Joseph G. Guzzo, grandson; Kenny Joe Malone and several brother’s and sister’s.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm Wednesday at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a Blessing Service will be held at 4 pm
with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donation’s to DuBois Hospice at 100 Hospital Avenue, Dubois, PA. 15801.
