Joseph Paul “Gypsy” Anderson Jr., 57, of Summerville, PA died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his home.
Born May 1, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA., he was the son of the late Joseph Paul and Louise (Rogers) Anderson.
Joseph graduated from Allegheny High School and obtained a degree in law enforcement from Dickenson Law School. He was employed as a coal miner until 1995. He was a member of the Brookville Masonic Lodge and Promise Keepers. Joseph enjoyed building and riding Harley motorcycles, astronomy, and was a herbalist.
Joseph is survived by two brothers, William Anderson of Rural Valley, PA and Robert Anderson of Big Run, PA. Also surviving is a sister Debra West of Bethel Park, PA and significant other Helen Neiswonger of Summerville.
Along with his parents Joseph is preceded in death by his grandmother Florence Gibson Anderson.
His family will receive friends on Monday January 4, 2016, from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and Tuesday January 5 from 10 – 11 am at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville. The funeral service will follow at 11 am.
Interment will follow at the Carrier Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson County, PA. (www.furlongfuneralhome.com).
