Joseph-Renwick1Joseph T. Renwick, 73, of 133 Terrace Road, St. Marys, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 23, 1941 in St. Marys, son of the late Aurelia E. and the Honorable State Representative William F. Renwick.

He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959 and was a 1963 graduate of Alfred University.

In 1975, he moved to Punxsutawney where he continued his career as Plant Manager of Airco Speer. He later became President of NAC Carbon from where he retired in 2003.

He moved back to St. Marys in 2008.

On July 2, 1959 in the Queen of the World Church, he married Arlene Wehler, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Janine McCullough and her husband Timothy of St. Marys; four sons, Joseph Renwick and his wife Lori of St. Marys, Michael Renwick and his wife Mary of Punxsutawney, Patrick Renwick and his wife Amy of Punxsutawney, and Corey Renwick and his wife Stef of St. Marys; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen Bauer and her husband William M. of St. Marys.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John “Jack” Renwick.

Mr. Renwick was a member of the Queen of the World Church, the Elks Club, the St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club, and the Leaning Pines Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and hunter and he enjoyed boating and spending time at his camp at the East Branch Dam. In 2000, he was inducted into the Alfred University Sports Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in football.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, October 24, 2014, at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home in St. Marys on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
